Introduction: Gabbi McLean is a junior Biology and Psychology double major on the Pre-Med track at UMBC. She is the 2020-2021 HCC President and is also an active member of other orgs such as VP of Committees for Phi Mu Fraternity for Women, Student Ambassador for Retriever Essentials, Pre Medical Society, Global Brigades.
What I hope to accomplish through HCC: In collaboration with all HCC members, I hope to connect honors college students to critical resources, exciting events, and most importantly to one another. Our role as a student run organization is to foster a strong sense of community within the Honors College and to support our members throughout their time at UMBC. I am looking forward to connecting with Honors College students at our fun events and on other virtual messaging platforms to keep our community strong.
Internal Vice President: Gabby Khan

Introduction: Gabby Khan is the Internal VP of the Honors College Council (HCC) for the 2020-2021 academic year. Gabby has many hobbies including playing games, crocheting, doing origami, and doing art. She also loves working with the HCC, and is also active as an RA (The Honors College LLC RA) and a Tutor at the Academic Success Center!
What I hope to accomplish through HCC: I hope to spread good will through the HCC and help everyone to build a community and have fun together!
External Vice President: Theo Addo

Introduction: Theo Addo is the External VP of the Honors College Council (HCC) for the 2020-2021 academic year.
What I hope to accomplish through HCC: I hope to connect UMBC organizations with HCC and its Honors College members. I also want to make sure that HCC has a strong sense of community.

Sophomore | Major: Information Systems and Biology

Introduction: Bilal Qamar is the Secretary of the Honors College Council (HCC) for the 2020-2021 academic year. Bilal is also active in MSA as well as Golden Key Honor Society at UMBC.
What I hope to accomplish through HCC: I hope to make the Honors College a fun and involving experience for all of its members.
Treasurer: Christina Levine

Introduction: Christina Levine is the Treasurer of the Honors College Council (HCC) for the 2020-2021 academic year. Christina sings with the UMBC women’s Acapella group Stilettos and acts as their President.
What I hope to accomplish through HCC: I hope to help everyone become informed and excited about upcoming events! I will implement the marketing, artistic, and communication skills I have developed as founder/owner/artist of a ball-jointed-doll customization business with customers on four continents in my work.

Introduction: Moraa Nyakoe is the Freshman Representative of the Honors College Council (HCC) for the 2020-2021 academic year. During her short time at UMBC so far, she have also joined UMBC CRU and is excited to see what other activities she can involve herself in!
What I hope to accomplish through HCC: As HCC Freshman representative, I hope to become familiar with my new community at UMBC, as well as to make the best freshman year possible for my classmates. Despite the current pandemic situation and virtual classes, there is still potential for this school year, which I am beyond excited to uncover!

Transfer Representative: Simone Loysen
Sophomore | Major: Mathematics and Minor in Computer Science
Pronouns: They/Them
Introduction: Simone Loysen is the Transfer Representative of the Honors College Council (HCC) for the 2020-2021 academic year. Beyond mathematics, computer science, and other S.T.E.M. fields, they are focused on and interested in furthering mental health care and awareness as well as LGBTQ+ rights. They aim to work in aerospace helping model and code for space travel.
What I hope to accomplish through HCC: I am excited to be the transfer representative with HCC to, first and foremost, help my fellow transfer students explore their possibilities with UMBC and help them feel more at home with the Honors College. I hope to plan events that are not only fun and engaging, but also helpful to students for their education and mental wellbeing.
